You can watch the announcement trailer here:

Shiren the Wanderer: Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island is a roguelike in which you take control of the titular Shiren. He explores the Mystery Dungeon, which has procedurally generated maps, enemies, and loot. Every time he dies, he loses all of his progress, including levels and gear. So every time he goes into the dungeon, it’s like a new challenge. There is a turn-based battle system on a grid map that forces players to plan out each step strategically.

This is the latest mainline entry in the Shiren the Wanderer series. The first game came out in 1995 as part of the Mystery Dungeon series. The latest one came out in 2020 and the title is Shiren the Wanderer: The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate. Each game has the same type of gameplay, featuring procedurally generated dungeons and forcing players the start from scratch if they die in the Mystery Dungeon.

Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island will come out in North America and Europe on February 27, 2024 for the Nintendo Switch. There will be a first-run bonus of a sticker that features Shiren in the game’s traditional Japanese art style.
