Shiny Beldum To Be Distributed In America For Pokémon Omega Ruby And Alpha Sapphire

It was recently revealed in Japan’s CoroCoro magazine that Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will include a Shiny Beldum that you can acquire within the game. In North America, this Beldum will be distributed over the Internet when the games launch on November 21st.

The Shiny Beldum will evolve into Shiny Metang and eventually Shiny Metagross. Beldum will come holding its Mega Evolution stone, which means that Steven, the Pokémon Champion of the Hoenn region, won’t be the only person with a Mega Metagross in their possession.

Other recently reported Mega Evolved Pokémon such as Mega Altaria, Mega Salamence, and Mega Lopunny have been officially confirmed as well, and are all shown in the trailer above.

Additionally, Pokémon Contests in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire have been detailed as well. Here’s what The Pokémon Company have to say about them:

Once players arrive at the Hoenn region’s Pokémon Contest Spectacular, they can enter their Pokémon in five different contest categories—Coolness, Beauty, Cuteness, Cleverness, and Toughness—in which the Pokémon is judged on one of these five conditions. For example, in a Toughness Contest, a Pokémon will display moves to show off its Toughness appeal. Demonstrating a move like Flying Press will get the audience excited, but using the move Play Nice probably won’t elicit the same excitement. The more excited the audience gets, the more the Pokémon will maximize its appeal.

After entering the Contest for the first time, you will receive your own Cosplay Pikachu, which knows moves that regular Pikachu can’t normally learn. You’ll be able to use these Pokémon in battle as well.

Finally, it has also been revealed that Horde Battles are back in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. These are no longer limited to wild encounters either—now, you can also encounter a horde of Pokémon trainers all at once, and defeating them will provide even more experience points.
