Just like the Frosty Fest before it, Splatoon 2 is getting another seasonal Splatfest that celebrates Spring called Spring Fest, where players will get to play with specially-colored ink, as well as get new free gear. Additionally, Nintendo has released details on Ver.4.6.0, which will add the final weapons to the game.
Let’s look at the topic of discussion this time, which is based off the classic tale of the Hare vs the Tortoise. We know how the fable ends, but the hare gets to overturn its fate in this Splatfest – ‘Which will win in a race, the hare or the tortoise?’
During this event, Inkopolis Square will be filled with delightful pastel colors, and players will also get to play with pastel colors in Splatfest matches.
While the Frosty Fest gave players three new headgear pieces to play around with, Spring Fest gives more than double that, adding four types of headgear and eight types of shoes, which you can find the names of above. These are themed after spring, and were designed with supervision from Off the Hook.

The Splatoon Tumblr also released more info on the latest update to come to Splatoon 2, on April 2, 2019.
As announced back in January, the ‘Sheldon’s Picks’ collection from Splatoon on Wii U are returning in Splatoon 2, adding variations of weapons that did not receive them in the Kensa Collection update.
As previously noted, here are the weapons below:
-
- Heavy Splatling Remix
- Sploosh-o-matic 7
- Fresh Squiffer
- Cherry H-3 Nozzlenose
- N-ZAP ‘83
- Soda Slosher
- Aerospray PG
- Bamboozler 14 Mk III
- Permanent Inkbrush
- Grim Range Blaster
- Clear Dapple Dualies
- Tenta Camo Brella
The bolded weapons above were not previewed, and instead are completely new to the collection for Splatoon 2, bringing the final number of new weapons to 12 from 10. Nintendo notes that these indeed will be the final weapons added to the game.
Finally, the Ver.4.6.0 update will add a new Weapon Badges feature to Splatoon 2, whereby you can see how much you’ve used a weapon easily, signified by badges shown on the top left of a weapon card when in the player status screen. Badges are upgraded when the amount of turf inked reaches a certain threshold.
Splatoon 2 is available for Nintendo Switch.
