Back at The Game Awards 2019, two big announcements were the Xbox Series X and one of its first games, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II. At the time, we knew it was definitely an Xbox Series X title. Now, Microsoft Xbox Games Marketing General Manager Aaron Greenberg has confirmed that this sequel will only appear on the “Xbox” and PC.
This came after a fan asked him on Twitter about Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II exclusivity. Greenberg said, “It’s being made exclusively for Xbox and PC.” He did not elaborate on what “Xbox” meant and if it could mean the sequel would appear on both the Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
This would be quite a contrast from the original Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice. While it originally appeared everywhere, the title began as a PlayStation 4 and PC exclusive in 2017. Then, a little under a year later, it showed up on the Xbox One. A Nintendo Switch port finally arrived one year after that in April 2019.
The original Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice followed Senua as she went to try and reclaim the soul of her dead lover from the goddess Hela. Along the way, she is plagued by a darkness and constantly hears voices she refers to as Furies. Throughout the course of the game, she suffers from psychosis.
Senua’s Sacrifice: Hellblade II is in development for the Xbox Series X and PC.
