It sounds like IA/VT: Colorful, a rhythm game for the PlayStation Vita created up by Senran Kagura producer Kenichiro Takaki, won’t be leaving Japan. We first asked him if Vita owners in the West could expect to see it, but it seems there are a number of reasons why the game won’t make it overseas.
“If it were possible, I’d love to bring it over, but there are a lot of difficulties involved in that process. Now, that said, there’s no reason why you can’t import it," Takaki said in an interview with Siliconera. "Since it’s a music title, and since music is arguably one of the most protected media types artists have, that just means more doors to knock on and more approvals to get. It’s far more difficult than a Senran Kagura title.”
“So, just to clarify, the final word on IA/VT is that players in the West will have to import it if they want to play it?”
Takaki laughed, but then agreed, saying that “Yes, I believe that that’s the case.”
