Sega and ACE Team, the studio behind Zeno Clash and Abuss Odyssey, have announced SolSeraph, a new platformer and city-building simulation hybrid that for all intents and purposes seems to be a spiritual successor to ActRaiser.

SolSeraph has players controlling a divinity, Helios, who has been tasked with rebuilding civilization, while defending the population against mythical demons. With the humans struggling to rebuild after the torture of the Younger Gods, only the Knight of Dawn can save them from their turmoil.

Helios is armed with a sword, shield, and magical archery, and he must defeat a slew of goblins, beastmen, and more, in his journey to face off against the Younger Gods. Defeating the Younger Gods gives Helios new powers, like healing herbs and ice shards.

Like ActRaiser, Yuzo Koshiro is behind the soundtrack of SolSeraph, while writer Jonas Kyrazes, who has worked on games like The Talos Principle, has helped write the game’s story.
