Space Harrier is the next game to join the Sega Ages lineup for Switch, and the game was announced via a collaboration commercial with the currently ongoing adaptation of the High Score Girl.

Other games that are part of the Sega Ages line of rereleases include Thunder Force IV, Sonic the Hedgehog, Phantasy Star, Gain Ground, and Alex Kidd. The first games that will come out are Sonic the Hedgehog and Thunder Force IV, though they were delayed to September 2018.

High Score Girl is a manga by Rensuke Oshikiri that is published by Square Enix. The manga revolves around avid gamer Haruo Yaguchi and his relationship with mysterious girl Akira Oono. The manga is set to end this month, on September 25, 2018.

The manga made headlines back in 2014, when SNK sued Square Enix for usage of SNK IPs without consent. Square Enix then sued back two months later in defense, saying that they did not infringe any copyrights. Both companies reached a settlement later on.

Sega Ages Space Harrier is in development for Nintendo Switch.
