Puyo Puyo Tsu releases today in Japan, and Sega has released a new trailer that goes over the port’s faithful arcade mode, plus extra features like a Time Reverse mode that allows you to undo moves.
This version of Puyo Puyo Tsu is based on the arcade version, like the other Sega Ages titles, rather than the other home console ports. That said, it’s got extra features like a Survival mode where you face off against every available rival in the game one after the other.
You can also change the colors of Puyos in the settings, and the Time Reverse function allows you to undo moves to perhaps better learn and practice placement of Puyos. If players don’t like this function, it can be turned off in the settings. There’s also an ‘Arcade Cabinet’ mode that emulates what it would be like to play the game in an arcade, including the noisy surroundings.
Finally, multiplayer is available in this port both locally via split Joy-Cons, as well as online battles. The port of the first game had surprisingly massive lag, so hopefully this time it’ll be better.
