The event, which originally ran all the way back in 2019, introduced survivor skins based on Joker, Ann, Ryuji, and Yusuke. A second part of the event later introduced another set of skins based on Akechi, Haru, Futaba, and Makoto. This time, the two sets will be available concurrently. The new promotional video follows in the style of previous ones, but features all eight of the Persona 5 Royal characters in their Identity V forms.

The skins will be available via the Essence gacha system, with several portraits and a pet Morgana also available via game activities. For every six pulls on these Essences, players will receive a Soul of Resistance item via mail. These can be collected and used to ascend the skins and unlock the characters’ Phantom Thief costumes.

Earlier in July 2024, Netease announced that we would see the Persona 5 Royal crossover event return to Identity V , giving players a second chance to obtain the skins. Meanwhile, Atlus also recently announced a line of Persona 5-themed hot sauces and coffees made in collaboration with Jade City Foods.

Identity V is readily available on PC and mobile devices, while the Persona 5 Royal crossover event will return on August 2, 2024.
