By Not only is Pole no Daibouken (Pole’s Big Adventure) designed like a lost Famicom game it pokes fun at gaming’s golden age. In these video clips we’re introduced to Pole, the pixilated 8-bit cowboy, who jumps and shoots in levels that have elements reminiscent of Super Mario Brothers. However, things like pipes and mushrooms don’t have the same effect in Pole’s Big Adventure. Seriously, watch out for those mushrooms!
Nostalgia overload right?
Pole’s Big Adventure can be played with the Wii remote held NES style or you can grab a Classic Controller or Gamecube controller. Pole’s Big Adventure supports these devices too. For a 500 Wii Points ($5) Pole’s Big Adventure looks like it’s worth it for me. I’m sold on the concept and the humor. Look for hands on coverage of this in two weeks time.
