Scott Pilgrim Physical Edition on Switch Sold Over 25K Copies in 3 Hours

Scott Pilgrim Physical Edition

The owner of Limited Run Games, Douglas Bogart, has reported that the distributor’s limited physical edition of the recently re-released Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game for the Nintendo Switch managed to sell more than 25,000 copies in under three hours. This is only a subset of the title’s overall sales as it is also available on other platforms and through digital storefront. Limited Run Games primarily distributes, as the name would imply, a limited physical run of digitally released games.

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game is a side-scrolling brawler that originally released on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade in March of 2010. Approximately four years later, the game and its two DLC packs were delisted from both stores. The Limited Run release is notable as the first physical version of the game, and owning it in this fashion diminishes concerns over any potential de-listings that could arise from something like licensing issues. The distributor currently has seven different collectors editions available across both the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. Their prices range from $34.99 for the base game up to $399.99 for the Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game Fan Bundle, which comes with, among other things, pins, cards, keychains, and clothes.

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game is available for the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and Google Stadia. Pre-orders for the Limited Run release began on January 15, 2021.
