SNK revealed earlier this week that two new games are being added to the Neo Geo Arcade Stick Pro – Savage Reign and Metal Slug 3.
Savage Reign takes place in the near future, in a South Town that has been since renamed into Jipang City. A mysterious, strong fighter named King Leo has issued a fighting tournament challenge, and nine fighters rise up to the challenge, with one of them being Sho Hayate, a master of a brand-new combat style that mixes karate with boomerang usage. Like Samurai Shodown, it focuses on fighting with weapons, but with more of the speed of Fatal Fury, and a two-lane system.
Meanwhile, Metal Slug 3 is the fourth game in the series, and is the conclusion to the original trilogy, which brought Marco, Eri, Tarma, and Fio into direct conflict with Mars People. Since the end of Metal Slug 2 (X), strange things are once again happening over the world, and the four are deployed to put a stop to what seems to be the latest in General Morden’s schemes.
In particular, Metal Slug 3 follows the addition of Metal Slug and Metal Slug 2 in December 2019. SNK has stated they plan to continue supporting the Neo Geo Arcade Stick Pro with updates, and this is just the latest one.
