Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love Slips Into Next Year

It’s been awhile since we heard anything about Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love so we checked in about the game’s winter 2009/2010 release window. Unfortunately, Gemini Sunrise won’t be riding a mech in NYC this year.

NIS America plans to release Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love on the Wii and PlayStation 2 in early 2010. The game will ship in a premium package with two discs (one for Japanese voice acting, the other with English) and include a secret special item.

Spacing out Sakura Wars would have been a good idea, but a slew of other games including Bayonetta, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars, and even niche titles like Fragile are scheduled around the same time. Sakura Wars seems like it’s going to have a tough launch, especially with retailers scaling back on PlayStation 2 store space. Good luck Gemini and co.
