The director of the SaGa series has asked fans to wait a little while longer for the SaGa Frontier 2 remaster. He has not given a release window, but promised that fans will not be disappointed. [Thanks, Famitsu!]
These comments came from the April 1, 2024 stream for Romancing SaGa Re;univerSe, which is a mobile game based on the series. He appeared due to the fact that it will is the 25th anniversary of SaGa Frontier 2, and because there is a new event and style focusing on that game in Re;univerSe. However, contrary to fan expectations, he did not announce anything concrete about the remaster for SaGa Frontier 2. The director Akitoshi Kawazu told fans to wait a little longer. He also assured them by reminding them that the extra wait will not betray their expectations, likely hinting that the delay is due to quality assurance and control.
SaGa Frontier 2 initially came out in 1999 for the PS. It is a role-playing game with a non-linear style, which gives players a sense of freedom as they explore the map and play through the story. It also features turn-based combat. As for the story, players can play as two different characters, with their own stories and conflicts as they navigate the world of Sandail.
