An image of Sadako will appear in the window of the vehicle, and there will be AR jumpscares throughout. For example, Sadako may jump out at you from a monitor. As this is part of a promotion for Sadako DX, you will also get to watch trailers for the movie throughout the ride. There will also be some images or clips exclusive to the Sadako Taxi. In order to book a ride with Sadako, you will have to use the taxi app ‘S. Ride.’ to do so.

Sadako DX is part of the Ring franchise, and it first premiered at the 2022 Fantasia International Film Festival. It will air in Japan on October 28, 2022. Like previous Ring films, the plot revolves around a cursed video tape, which has now become a viral sensation. Protagonist Ayaka Ichijo (Fuka Koshiba) is a skeptic but she finds out that her sister Futaba (Yuki Yagi) has watched it. Not only that, but Futaba’s death will occur in 24 hours, rather than the usual seven days.

The Sadako Taxi will be available in Tokyo, Japan from October 24 to November 6, 2022. Sadako DX will appear in Japanese theaters from October 28, 2022.
