Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny is getting a PlayStation Network release today, Natsume have announced. Tides of Destiny was originally released in 2011 for the Wii and PS3.
“Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny has been a fan favorite since its launch, and has been a much requested addition to our digital catalogue,” said Hiro Maekawa, President and CEO at Natsume. “We’re excited to show the media the fruit of the past year’s promise to provide more digital titles at next month’s E3 Expo.”
Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny shifted away from traditional Rune Factory games by putting more of an emphasis on fighting than crowing crops, although you can still do the latter. The game also did away with character portraits entirely, instead using 3D models for conversation scenes. You can read our playtest of it here.
The next game in the Rune Factory series, Rune Factory 4, will be released for the Nintendo 3DS this Summer. Unlike most of the previous Rune Factory titles, the new game will be published in North America by Xseed instead of Natsume. Xseed also published Rune Factory Frontier for the Wii back in 2009.
