Rumor: Lego Dimensions Allegedly Ending After Year 2

When Traveller’s Tales Games and Warner Bros. launched Lego Dimensions, they did so with a three year plan in mind. People would purchase the base game. This core would be good for the entire three years, with various packs released in waves after launch. Eurogamer has come across information that suggests this toys-to-life series could be ending a year early. Warner Bros. and TT Games have yet to release any official statement.

According to reports, sales figures are what has led to the altering of Lego Dimensions’ plans. Expectations were not met. In addition, the cost of manufacturing the pieces for these sets could be expensive, due to some requiring specific molds for the unique characters. To compare, year one consisted of five waves, which contained 6 level packs, 4 team packs, and 27 fun packs. Year two had four waves, with wave seven split into two parts. It had 3 story packs, 4 level packs, 5 team packs, and 12 fun packs.

Lego Dimensions is available for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Nintendo Wii U.
