Tangledeep, a roguelike RPG with a mix-and-match job system, will offer players some soothing songs from Secret of Mana composer Hiroki Kikuta to calm them when permanent death might otherwise be stressing them out.

The people of Tangledeep have lived underground for hundreds of years, creating their own homes and societies in the earth. The only way to the surface is a shifting dungeon known as Tangledeep, and curiosity will soon drag the protagonist into that changing world, battling monsters in tactical combat in order to see what lies above.

Players will find the dungeon changing on every playthrough, but their play style can also change through the game’s job system. Nine jobs, with abilities that can be shared between jobs, offers customization in how players tackle each problem.

Players who find things too challenging can help themselves out by banking items, which saves them for other playthroughs, as well as by raising monsters and certain types of magic trees in town. Players can also choose to play without permadeath for a more relaxed run.

Players will also be able to look forward to music from Grant Kirkhope, composer for Goldeneye, on their journey, which they can start on now since Tangledeep is now available on Steam Early Access.
