Resident Evil 6 sold 806,000 copies in the month of October in the U.S., according to a report from Gamesindustry.biz.

In Japan, Resident Evil 6 has sold 808,039 copies as of November 4th. That brings collective sales between the U.S. and Japan to approximately 1.61 million. European sales are unknown as of this time.

Capcom have shipped 4.5 million copies of Resident Evil 6 worldwide. The publisher initially estimated that they would move 7 million copies of the game by March 31st, 2013, but later revised that number downward to 6 million.

Regarding the game’s reception in the west, Capcom said in a recent earnings Q&A that they feel it is “too early to reach a conclusion” regarding how players view the game, and that they are confident they will be able to hit their 6 million goal, owing to the upcoming holiday season and “for other reasons”.

However, they added, they do always take user feedback into account while developing games.

In December, Resident Evil 6 will see a free DLC update that allows you to adjust the game’s camera further, adds a co-op option to Ada Wong’s campaign, and adds a new difficulty mode to the game as well.
