Resident Evil 3 Safe Rooms Are Safe From Nemesis (Update)

Nemesis, Jill Valentine’s monstrous stalker in Resident Evil 3, is going to be quite clingy in the new game, but that doesn’t mean you won’t have safe havens. While the April 2020 issue of Official Xbox Magazine suggested that Nemesis doesn’t respect boundaries, Capcom has stated that this is incorrect. In a statement to GamesRadar, a Capcom representative noted that Nemesis can’t enter Resident Evil 3 safe rooms.

In the Resident Evil series, safe rooms have been a bastion where people can take a moment and compose themselves. If characters like Jill stop inside one, all enemies will (normally) wait outside and you can rearrange your inventory and save.

While this element will remain the same, there are instances where some parts of Resident Evil 3 will be different. Back in December 2019, a Famitsu interview with producers Peter Fabiano and Masachika Kawata confirmed there would be more alterations in the Resident Evil 3 remake than there would be in the one for Resident Evil 2. An example of this would be the playable Carlos Oliviera segments being added to this version.

Resident Evil 3 will come to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on April 3, 2020. A demo has also been promised, but is not yet available.

Editor’s note: The Official Xbox Magazine included incorrect information about just how determined Nemesis would be to stay close to Jill. An official statement has come in from Capcom clarifying the situation.
