Rare and Dlala haven’t been shy about showing off Battletoads gameplay and looks at the new game. However, to better prepare people for its launch on August 20, 2020, the developer put together an almost 25 minute gameplay showcase. Given the current situation, the three used Steam Remote Play to show how people can work together to go through the beat’em up.
The Battletoads gameplay showcase began with people using Rash and Zitz to beat up some foes. Rash was described as a good entry character, for people new to the series. On the right side of the screen, you can see your current “rank” for a fight and how many points you’ve accrued. The standard beat’em up, bike levels, and shoot’em up segments are all shown off in the first fifteen minutes.
Just be advised that, if you want to go in “fresh,” there are some spoiler-elements here at the 18:25 minigame part. That’s when you get to Emergency Station and, while Rare and Dlala are vague, you might see a certain character or gameplay element that could otherwise be a surprise.
Battletoads will come to the Xbox One and PC on August 20, 2020. People with Xbox Game Pass can already pre-load the game.
