rain for PlayStation C.A.M.P. is a game about an invisible boy. The character you play is actually invisible and can only be seen when you run out in the rain. I played rain and the first level has carefully placed obstacles like cans and a ladder to bump into so players get used to the idea of controlling an invisible character.

After you get used to being invisible, rain introduces beetle-like enemies that chase the boy if they detect them. With no way to fight, the boy has to run and hide from the beetles by running out of the rain so he’s invisible again.

"The concept was to surprise players," Tomoharu Fujii from the PlayStation C.A.M.P. team said to Siliconera. "What the we wanted to do is create a unique action-adventure with an invisible character because that hasn’t been done before." Fujii said the story is a little sad and is designed to "trigger the emotion about getting lost, which only a child can truly feel."

PlayStation C.A.M.P. is the group behind imaginative games like Tokyo Jungle, Trash Panic, and rain. Fujii said the team’s goal is to create new IPs and they have more freedom than other groups within Sony Worldwide Studios. Their most successful title to date is Echochrome, but Fujii says Tokyo Jungle is almost as close as Echochrome.
