Radio The Universe Is The Offspring Of Zelda And Dark Science Fiction

Enigmatic game creator 6e6e6e has released new footage from their upcoming challenging sci-fi action-exploration game Radio the Universe. It shows off a dangerous, red-lit dungeon full of mech-spiders and patrolling drones.

If you’re not familiar with the game, Radio the Universe was successfully funded on Kickstarter in January 2013. In fact, it smashed the funding goal of $12,000, raising $81, 719 in total.

What’s the appeal, then? Well, simply put, it’s a combination of The Legend of Zelda and dark science fiction. It has SNES-style visuals, challenging dungeons, and an offbeat story. It’s about a nameless woman who ventures across a desolate labyrinth-city for reasons as of yet unknown.

It has a somber and expansive world to explore, full of robotic dangers, shortcuts, and environmental hazards. It also has a module-based character progression system in which you arrange upgrade pieces on a grid, with certain patterns granting new abilities and bonuses.

You can find more video clips from the game on 6e6e6e’s YouTube account. The best place to go for more information about Radio the Universe is its Kickstarter page.
