Granzella held a live stream for R-Type Final 2 on September 25, 2020. In the stream, Kazuma Kujo apologized for the delays regarding the release of both the game and the demo.
The game originally had 2020 as its release window, but this stream confirmed that it was moved back to Spring 2021. The demo version, originally slated to be distributed in July 2020, was also delayed to the first half of 2021.
However, at the same time, Kazuma Kujo also delivered some promising news for the game. While the demo was initially planned to be available only on PCs, it will be also made available on other platforms with the new launch window. Kujo also promised that the demo will be distributed before the full game launches. Physical releases of the full game are also confirmed coming to not only Japan but also North America and Europe.
Granzella also published the new trailer for R-Type Final 2, which was previously shown at the Xbox TGS 2020 Showcase. The full list of platforms confirmed for the game so far is PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. The Xbox versions will support Smart Delivery so those who chose Xbox One will also be able to get it on Xbox Series X. Kujo also added that he still cannot say on whether Final 2 will also be available on the PlayStation 5 or not.

Those who have expired email links or have even yet to receive an email from Granzella can make a contact through the company’s webpage.
