The additional funding period for R-Type Final 2’s crowdfunding ended on November 1, and Granzella reported that the game now has over $1.09 million USD in funding combined between the June and October periods, from over 10,000 Backers total.

In June 2019, we ran a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter for a week, however, it was too short. Also, we had not been able to reach out and make the campaign known enough, so we had many people who missed out on the initial campaign contacting us to ask for a second opportunity. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all of you for your cooperation in spreading the word about our campaign. We are also grateful for the backers who helped us make the campaign more successful, and those who have joined us to support the latest R-Type production project. With your cooperation, the campaign ended successfully.
Granzella also reminds that they are expected to release a trial version of R-Type Final 2 to backers in April 2020 for feedback from those who supported them.
R-Type Final 2 is in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. It is expected to release in December 2020. Check out the first look at one of the proposed extra ships, the TW-3B Blue Symphonies, in motion here.
