Back in June 2020, Taito confirmed a Puzzle Bobble VR game would head to the Oculus Quest headsets. Now, it has a release date and there are details going over exactly how it will work. Puzzle Bobble VR: Vacation Odyssey will show up on May 20, 2021 and, like all entries in the series, will have multiple modes and ZUNTATA music.
The reveal confirmed exactly what people will get in the puzzle game. Its Story Mode will be a first-person affair where you go through 100 levels. Like some mobile games, there will be three stars people can earn per level based on their performance. People will also be able to play against another person online in Online Duel Mode mode or continuously pop in Infinite Mode.
Here’s the latest trailer showing exactly how Puzzle Bobble VR: Vacation Odyssey will work in VR. After an initial animation where Bub and Bob find and put on headsets, it shows actual gameplay. Initially, it looks at the Story Mode with its 100 puzzles. Then, at the 50 second mark, it shows what Online Duel Mode will look like.
Puzzle Bobble VR: Vacation Odyssey will be available on May 20, 2021 on the Oculus Quest and Oculus Quest 2. Its official website is open.
