Sony announced the PSVR 2 will release sometime in early 2023, with further details coming at a later date. The reveal comes from the official PlayStation JP Twitter account. The PlayStation UK Twitter account has also made a similar announcement. [Thanks, 4Gamer!]
The Japanese PlayStation Twitter account tweeted a simple graphic of the upcoming VR headset with the words “2023年 初頭発売”, which directly translates to “Releasing at the start of 2023”. While it’s still unclear when exactly the release date will be, the wording indicates that the peripheral will likely release at the very beginning of the year, possibly in January 2023. Furthermore, the post did not include any pricing or availability information.

Last month, Sony updated its PlayStation Blog with more details about the peripheral’s capabilities. These included a “see-through view” which will allow users to see their surroundings without taking the headset off. Additionally, it outlined other features such as a “room-scale” function, as well as its “Cinematic” and “VR Mode” settings.
In terms of games, fans can look forward to the Resident Evil 4 remake, which will release in March 2023 and support the PSVR 2. Resident Evil Village will also support the PSVR 2 once it releases, and Guerilla Games plans on releasing a Forbidden West spin-off title.
The PSVR 2 will release sometime at the start of 2023. There is no confirmed price or release date.
