As part of the Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis April 22, 2021 presentation, Sega discussed some of the things people can expect when the game begins. Namely, there will be a PSO2 New Genesis Starter Package sold in Japan starting on August 19, 2021. This bundle will be 4,490 yen for the Switch version and 4,990 yen for the PS4 and PC ones. It will include bonus, beach-themed cosmetic items and things to get you started in-game. While the Starter Package will be a Japan exclusive, the $41.99 and $43.99 Founder’s Packs will include the bonus items as paid DLC for the Xbox One and PC versions.
For example, two swimsuits will be available. The Aelio Badge Exchange Items Aelio Nadar [Ba] and Aelio Nager [Ba] appeared first. Each piece of swimwear’s outfit ornaments are optional and you can choose whether or not they’d be displayed. After that, the following additional Aelio Badge Exchange items were highlighted.

- Compass Tattoo (Body Paint)
- Compass Tattoo/B (Body Paint)

The PSO2 New Genesis Starter Package items will also include an Aina Surf’s Up! stamp and a Swim – Crawl (Motion). two 15 day Premium Sets, two 15 day Material Storage Use, three N-Rare Drop Rate +50% items, three N-EXP earned +10% items, a Salon Free Pass, and five N-Half Scape Dolls.
Japan will also have a limited edition version of this Starter Package. That will be 5,490 for the Switch version and 5,990 for the PS4 and PC versions. It includes a mini soundtrack.

And here’s the details explaining how the Founder’s Packs will divide up the PSO2 New Genesis Starter Package. Essentially, the bundle with the Aelio Nadir [Ba] and its matching accessories will be $41.99. The one with Aelio Nager [Ba] and its complementary items will be $43.99.
The PSO2: New Genesis global release date will fall in June 2021, with the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC noted as official platforms in Japan and the presentation mentioning Xbox One and PC as global platforms. The closed beta test will run May 14-16, 2021 on Windows 10 PCs.
