PS3 PlayStation Store No Longer Available Vita PSP

PS3, Vita, and PSP PlayStation Stores Will Close in July and August 2021

Sony announced that it will close the PS3, Vita, and PSP on-console PlayStation Stores. This comes after it shut down access to the systems’ games via the web store. The PS3 and PSP versions will close on July 2, 2021, while the Vita storefront will close on August 27, 2021. The notice is immediately available on the European support site, but hasn’t shown up on the US one yet.

Sony clarified what this process will mean. It said that people could go through the Download List on all three systems to still access games, videos, and media they own, and that it will still be possible to play past PlayStation Plus games if you subscribe to the service. Cross-buy content will still be available and people will still be able to access funds in wallets via their PSN accounts and other storefronts. However, once this change happens, people will not be able to buy games, videos, or DLC and any in-game purchases will be disabled.

This comes after rumors claimed the PS3, PSP, and Vita PlayStation Stores would be closed on consoles. It also happened after Sony confirmed it would shut down its PlayStation Communities feature on the PS4.

People can access the PS3 and PSP PlayStation Stores until July 2, 2021. The Vita one will remain open until August 27, 2021.
