Famitsu has an update on Project X Zone, a strategy RPG with characters from Sega, Namco Bandai, and Capcom. The magazine confirmed two lead characters from Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier will be in the 3DS game along with Chun-Li and Valkyrie from The Legend of Valkyrie (not to be confused with Valkyria Chronicles…).

Characters in Project X Zone battle in pairs and you can link up with another team for a combo. You can trigger a support attack when an ally unit is within eight spaces of the attack unit. A screenshot shows Virtua Fighter leads Akira and Pai fighting alongside Resident Evil characters. If you can line up a support attack to strike an enemy simultaneously you will stun an enemy with a cross hit. Players can follow up with more attacks after an enemy is frozen. Soma and Alisa from God Eater help Sakura Wars characters in one of the game’s cross hit moves.
Project X Zone is slated for release sometime this year.
