Today at Sega’s stage event for Project Sakura Wars, it was announced that the game is getting an anime adaptation, and the Spiricle Fighter “Mugen” line from the latest game will be released as plastic models via Bandai’s HG line.
Apart from “Mugen”, Sakura Wars 2 is also getting a comeback with a new line of HG plastic models for the “Koubu Kai”. This line of plastic models will have a special gimmick…
The cockpit will open up, and there is also a plastic model of the pilot provided with the model.
A new line of gashapon toys featuring the Mugen (and Koubu Sanshiki) were also revealed, being created by Kaiyodo.
Sakura Amamiya is getting a 1/7 scale figure by Amakuni.
The game is also getting a Weiss Schwarz card set in 2020.
Next, Sega had a bombshell to drop – Project Sakura Wars is getting an anime that airs in 2020. The anime is being produced by Sanzigen.
Sakura is the focus character in this anime as well, and there will also be a Combat Revue designed by yet another character designer who only appear in the anime. According to Sega, the snowflakes in the main visual are a hint as to where this Combat Revue is from.
Project Sakura Wars releases in Japan on December 12, 2019 for PlayStation 4. The game will release in North America and Europe in Spring 2020. You can read more on the mysterious Kouma Yasha, as well as the Berlin Combat Revue revealed at TGS in our previous report here.
