Pokémon X And Pokémon Y Sell Over 4 Million Worldwide In Two Days

Recommended Videos

Pokémon X and Pokémon Y have sold over 4 million copies in their first two days on the market, worldwide, Nintendo announced this morning. That figure covers Saturday and Sunday in all regions, save for Europe, where most stores are closed on Sundays.

The launch of X and Y has beaten that of Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 by over 70%, although that isn’t surprising in the least, given that those two titles were iterative sequels, rather than a brand new Pokémon generation.

On a more interesting note, here are worldwide sales for past Pokémon games, as of March 31st, 2013:

Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl – 17.63 million

Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire – 16.22 million

Pokémon Black and Pokémon White – 15.42 million

Pokémon HeartGold and Pokémon SoulSilver – 12.67 million

Pokémon FireRed and Pokémon LeafGreen – 12 million
