The Nintendo DS is getting another Pokémon game, although this one may not quite be what you’re expecting. Titled Battle & Get! Pokémon Typing DS, the game comes with a wireless Bluetooth keyboard that can communicate with the Nintendo DS via a Bluetooth function implemented in the game’s cartridge.

The primary focus of the game is meant to teach children to type quickly without having to look down at the keyboard. However, while Nintendo don’t guarantee functionality, the keyboard that comes with the game can also be used with other Bluetooth devices. Nintendo president, Satoru Iwata, says that many within the company are using it with their iPhone and Android phones, and so is he.

Iwata also revealed that Nintendo are working on Pokémon games for the Wii and Nintendo 3DS, which will be announced at a later date. Meanwhile, Pokémon Typing DS is slated for an April release in Japan.
