In something of a twist, apart from the currently ongoing Pokemon anime, Pokemon Company announced today that Pokemon Sword & Shield are getting anime shorts of their own, titled ‘Twilight Wings’. This seven episode series of web shorts will be aired on Youtube, similar to the Pokemon Generations shorts a few years back.
The series will feature the lives of many of the characters who appear in the latest pair of Pokemon games in the Galar region. The shorts will be aired monthly, beginning with Episode 1 on January 15th 2020 at 1pm UTC. The series is being created by animation studio Studio Colorido, and is directed by Shingo Yamashita.
