McDonald’s Japan revealed the new theme for its August 2023 Pokemon Summer Festival Happy Meal toys. For about a three-week period, these Happy Meals will be available for purchase starting at 490 yen ($3.44) from August 11, 2023. [Thanks, Game Watch!]

A total of eight different toys will be a part of the lineup of toys customers receive when purchasing a Happy Meal, including “Yo-Yo Fishing,” a ring toss game, and “Festival Pokemon Scooping,” a game that allows players to fish for Pokemon in water rather than the traditional goldfish. The lineup features Pikachu, Sprigatito, Fuecoco, Quaxly, and other Pokemon starring in the latest anime series that launched in April 2023, Pokemon Horizons: The Series.

- Festival Pikachu Fireworks Fan
- Festival Pikachu Taiko Drum
- Festival Pokemon Scooping
- Glowing Pokeball Lantern
- Pokemon Ring Toss Game
- Pokemon Yo-Yo Fishing
- Summer Festival Pinball Game

As an added bonus, from August 11-13, 2023 each Happy Meal purchase will come with a McDonald’s Japan Original Special Tag that can be used while playing the Pokemon Mezastar arcade machine. There are a total of six different tags to collect featuring characters like Koraidon, Miraidon, Pikachu, Meowscarada, Skeledirge, and Quaquaval.
