Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Greninja Tera Raid Begins, Moves Revealed

As promised, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet can now find a Greninja Tera Raid. The first round kicked off on January 27, 2023, which means we now know what sorts of attacks and moves the level 100 Pokemon will use during the fight. Also, as a reminder, this is a character that bears a Mightiest Mark and is a seven-star raid, so expect a challenge.

The Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Greninja Tera Raid dens are distinctive, as usual. If you completed the Academy Ace Tournament, Path of Legends, Starfall Street, and Victory Road storylines, you’ll see the black Tera Raid dens on your map and the raids show up in the Tera Raid Battle section at the Poke Portal. Once you enter the fight, you’ll face a level 100 Greninja who could use Double Team, Gunk Shot, Hydro Pump, Ice Beam, Night Slash, and Toxic Spikes. It will always be a Poison Tera type.

You can participate in the fight multiple times, getting rewards like EXP Candy and Poison Tera Shards. You can only catch this Greninja once. You’ll also only get TM 91: Toxic Spikes once after fighting it.

As usual, beating Greninja does mean you can then breed it. This allows you to get Froakie and Frogadier. However, these ones will not have a Mightiest Mark.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available for the Nintendo Switch, and the Greninja Tera Raid will be available January 27-30, 2023, then February 10-13, 2023.
