Pokemon trainers from other regions won’t have to leave their friends behind when they go to Paldea. Pokemon Home will allow players to link to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet in Spring 2023. When the update goes live, you will be able to transfer your Pokemon from other Switch Pokemon games. This will include games such as Pokemon Legends Arceus and Pokemon Sword/Shield.

The pictures that Nintendo shared show Hisuian Zoroa and Zoroark, as well as the Scyther evolution line. It is unclear at this point if Hisuian versions of Pokemon will only be available if players have a copy of Pokemon Legends Arceus or if players can naturally obtain them in Scarlet/Violet.

There are many reasons as to why someone may want to transfer their Pokemon from one game to the other. It could be for practical reasons (they spent a lot of time breeding and EV training a particular Pokemon they want to keep using) or sentimental ones. There may also be some Pokemon that are not native to Paldea. This would then require players to manually emigrate them there.

Pokemon Home is an official, subscription-based cloud service for Nintendo handheld consoles that allow you to consolidate your Pokemon collection. There is also a mobile app. Users can not only transfer Pokemon from game to game, but they can also trade with other players. It supports all of the Pokemon games that are available on the Nintendo Switch, such as Sword and Shield.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will come out on the Nintendo Switch on November 18, 2022. The Pokemon Home update for Scarlet and Violet will go live in Spring 2023.
