While the weather outside might be starting to get frightful, Niantic will be launching a number of events designed to encourage people to get out and keep catching with Pokemon GO. Three major additions are coming to the game, beginning on November 19, 2019. There’ll be a Supereffective Week to help with the latest Team Rocket missions, a Friend Fest to encourage people to play together, and a new member of the Swords of Justice will be joining raids.
Chronologically, things will kick off with Pokemon GO Supereffective Week. This is designed to help people catch the kinds of Pokemon that will help in the fight against Giovanni and the Team Rocket members you’ll see at PokeStops. From November 19-26, 2019, you’ll see more bug and fairy types of Pokemon to use against the enemies, get Charged TMs from three-star raids, collect more potions and revival items from PokeStops, and get twice as much Stardust from Trainer Battles. In addition, Shiny Tentacools will appear during this period.
This will be followed by Terrakion appearing as the new Legendary Pokemon in five-star raids. Between November 26 and December 17, 2019, you’ll have a chance to fight and catch this character. It first appeared in Pokemon Black and White, alongside Cobalion and Virizion. It is a fighting and rock type.
Finally, there’s the Friend Fest. This is designed to get people working together between November 27 and December 2, 2019. If you join a raid with people you have set as friends, you will get an attack boost. Trade Stardust costs will be cut in half and you’ll be able to make two special trades each day. You’ll also see Nidorans and their evolutions, as well as “family” Pokemon, during this event scheduled to run over American Thanksgiving.
Pokemon GO is available for Android and Apple iOS devices.
