The Pokemon Gengar pillow with tongue blanket was so popular that pre-orders immediately sold out when it went live in early January 2021. Luckily for those who want to get their hands on one, P-Bandai kicked off pre-orders for a second wave of Gengar pillows that need loving homes. [Thanks, Game Watch!]
This Gengar merchandise is called “The Gengar you definitely want a licking from” in Japan. The reason for that is because while it may look like a regular Gengar plush, it has a 170-cm long tongue that you can roll out and use as a blanket.
The Gengar measures 53cm in width and 48cm in height. Its length is 170cm, with the tongue fully rolled out. The model in the demonstration is 175cm (~5’7″) and weighs 65kg.
If you’re still not sure how it works, P-Bandai provided the following examples on how to use the Gengar:
“You can use the Gengar pillow during remote work. You can use it whenever you’re feeling sleepy. Use it if you feel the need to be entangled. You can also use it when you want to be covered.”
Those who pre-ordered one from the first wave will get their Gengar pillows in June 2021. However, the second wave will arrive shortly after that, as shipments will go out in July 2021. It is currently available to pre-order via P-Bandai for 25,950 yen (~$250).
