An official Pokemon Day website opened ahead of the twenty-fifth anniversary of the series. The Pokemon Day site shows the list of folks’ favorite Pokemon update in real time, as users can participate and vote for their favorite characters using a unique hashtag on Twitter. It will update regularly, with Pokemon entering and leaving the top 30 depending on how many votes are cast. [Thanks, Game Watch!]
The website is currently only available in Japanese. If Twitter users want to participate, they will need to use the Japanese name of their favorite Pokemon to vote in the Pokemon Day poll. You can use the #にきめた hashtag by simply prefacing the text with the Japanese name (this will need to be done with the proper characters) of your favorite characters. The full results will be announced at a later date.
Additionally, the website will continually update until the series anniversary on February 27, 2021. These updates will include various bits of trivia that will be uploaded throughout this period.
It was recently announced that Post Malone will perform at a special Pokemon Day concert. The concert will be held digitally, with Post Malone receiving a special digital avatar complete with a Pokemon themed outfit. The concert will be held on February 27, 2021.
