As of September 29, 2022, PlayStation Stars is available in Asian regions, including Japan. The program will launch in North America on October 5, 2022, followed by Europe on October 13, 2022. The only requirement for signing up to PlayStation Stars is an adult PlayStation Network account.

While a PlayStation Plus account is not required, PS Plus members can earn PS Stars points via PlayStation Store purchases. These include PS Plus subscription payments. Players can use these points to redeem collectibles, games, and even PSN wallet funds. On the Hong Kong PSN Store, games likeĀ Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice andĀ Cult of the Lamb are redeemable for points.

Notably, the first reward campaign is “Hit Play/1994” which tasks players with launching games based on music cues. The reward for that campaign will be a special collectible. As Sony stated in its initial announcement, the collectibles will be purely cosmetic and cannot be traded between players. However, players can check the rarity of their collectibles via the campaign details screen. Others include a monthly check-in campaign that rewards players for launching any game once every month.

PlayStation Stars is available in Japan and Asia, and will launch in the US on October 5, 2022, and Europe on October 13, 2022. It is available on iOS and Android devices via the PlayStation App. A console version is in development.
