Players Discover Dehya’s Elemental Burst Issues in Genshin Impact

Genshin Impact players who ended up getting Dehya from the gacha report multiple issues with her Elemental Burst. Namely, that the automatic attacks from it don’t target enemies properly and that jumping during Leonine Bite. [Thanks, CrowLikesShiny and Ok_Television_2780 on Reddit!]

The targeting issues with Leonine Bite keep Dehya from hitting enemies in Genshin Impact. For example, she won’t always target applicable parts of opponents or will overshoot enemies if there are a group of them. One of the best examples is with Azdaha’s tail. This Weekly Boss will use two different elements during the fight. If either Cryo or Electro is one, then he will bury himself underground with only his tail appearing for players to attack. However, while other characters’ Elemental Bursts recognize the tail as something to target, like Itto’s Royal Descent: Behold, Itto the Evil!, Dehya’s does not.

Here’s CrowLikesShiny’s video showing Dehya’s Elemental Burst during Azdaha’s Electro phase.

As for the jumping canceling her burst, I was able to independently verify this during the free Dehya trial in-game. If someone makes the character jump while performing it, it brings the attack to an end.

Dehya is the latest five-star character to join the game. She is a Pyro claymore user who originally appeared during the Sumeru storyline. Upon her launch, HoYoVerse also added the first part of her Mantichora Chapter character questline, Lionsblood Quest.

The last time this sort of thing happened with a new character at launch involved Zhongli. After player outcry, HoYoVerse introduced a series of buffs for him.

Genshin Impact is available for the PS4, PS5, PC, and mobile devices, and the Dehya banner will be available until March 21, 2023.
