This week’s issue of Famitsu reports that PlatinumGames will have a “major” announcement to make in the magazine’s February 27th issue. (Thanks, RyoKutya2089)
Platinum launched a teaser website for an initiative titled “Platinum4” earlier in the month, which consists of four separate projects. The first of these was revealed to be The Wonderful 101: Remastered. That leaves three projects, the next of which could be this upcoming Famitsu reveal.
On a related note, PlatinumGames’ head of IP development, Masaki Yamanaka, recently penned a blog post highlighting original action figures designed by the staff, stating that they were inspired by “visions of Platinum’s future”. Whether or not these are related to the Platinum4 remains to be seen.
Finally, Bayonetta director Hideki Kamiya informs Famitsu that development of Bayonetta 3 is “going well,” adding that the game’s 2017 teaser trailer contains a variety of hidden information. Who exactly is directing Bayonetta 3 still remains unknown, though, as Bayonetta 2 director Yusuke Hashimoto is no longer with PlatinumGames.
The Wonderful 101: Remastered is in development for the Nintendo Switch, PC, and PS4. Meanwhile, Bayonetta 3 is in development for the Switch. Finally, Platinum also has Babylon’s Fall in development for the PS4 in collaboration with Square Enix.
