Back in 2014, Nintendo released Pikmin Short Movies to promote Pikmin 3. Now, ahead of Pikmin 3 Deluxe’s debut, we have news of a delisting and new platform for the three segments. While they will be leaving the Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Wii U eShops on October 8, 2020, they will subsequently show up on YouTube on an undisclosed date. [Thanks, Nintendo Everything!]

All three of the segments in this collection were worked on by Shigeru Miyamoto, with the paid collection showing his Flipnote Studio storyboards. It is unknown if those segments will also be added to YouTube.

The three clips are called “The Night Juicer,” “Occupational Hazards,” and “Treasure in a Bottle.” The 3DS segment offered the ability to pay $4.99 to watch them in 3D. The Wii U version offered the HD versions for $4.99.

Here’s Nintendo’s original trailer for Pikmin Short Movies. It begins with a sample of “The Night Juicer.” Segments lifted from “Occupational Hazards” and “Treasure in a Bottle” follow that. (The “bottle” in the title might look familiar to ramune fans.)

Pikmin Short Movies 3D and HD will be available on the Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Wii U eShops, respectively, until October 8, 2020. After that, Nintendo pledged to upload the three videos to YouTube. Pikmin 3 Deluxe will come to the Nintendo Switch on October 30, 2020.
