This comes after a bit of teasing. When Phantasy Star Online 2’s Western debut was confirmed at E3 2019, Microsoft’s Phil Spencer did say it would come to platforms other than the Xbox One. There was also a brief period where the website’s online manual mentioned the Steam release. However, while there was that Steam reference, people who want to play on PCs will have to head to the Microsoft Store to grab a copy for their Windows 10 PC.

It was only in April 2020 that the launch was 100% confirmed and a release window offered, suggesting people would see the Phantasy Star Online 2 PC version in May 2020.

There’s also some good news for those who are already playing. The North American versions of Phantasy Star Online 2 are compatible with one another. Cross-play will be enabled, allowing people just getting started on the PC to perhaps look to friends on the Xbox One for help getting started.

Phantasy Star Online 2 is immediately available for the Xbox One. The Phantasy Star Online 2 PC launch will be held on May 27, 2020. The official website is open, in case people need help finding their footing.
