When the sixth episode arrives on the global server, it will raise the player level cap to 95 while adding the Ultra Hard difficulty level and two new Scion Classes in Phantom and Etoile. It will also add a couple of new Summoner pets along with more new stories, quests, enemies, and even more powerful weapons.

Episode 6 launched first in the Japanese version with the Phantom class in May 2019, with the Etoile class and the level 95 cap added later gradually. Although an exact release date for the new episode in the global server has yet to be announced, Sega has prepared multiple campaigns to help players prepare for Episode 6 between the maintenances on November 25 and December 22, 2020.

The global version of Phantasy Star Online 2 is immediately available on Xbox One and PC. With the previous launch of Episode 5 on September 30, 2020, it can now be played in almost all regions and countries supported by Xbox and Steam. The online game will receive an even bigger overhaul when Sega launches Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis worldwide in 2021 after the global version has caught up with Japan.
