Sega and Atlus revealed Persona 5 the Stage 3 is moving forward. The stage play version of the hit JRPG will grace theaters in Yokohama and Osaka in December 2021. Sega and Atlus held the first two iterations in 2019 and 2020 in the same cities. [Thanks, 4Gamer!]
Sega and Atlus made the announcement during a livestream event commemorating the second stage play’s Blu-ray and DVD release. Fans can watch a rerun of the stream starting May 10, 2021 at 5 p.m. JST. The companies only revealed that Persona 5 the Stage 3 is coming in December 2021; they did not announce the cast, crew, or other details. That said, it’s worth noting actors did return from the first play to act in the second iteration. The official Twitter account for the stage play did ask everyone to stay tuned for more details.
Although the Persona 5 video game serves as the basis for the stage plays, Persona 5 the Stage 1 and 2 only cover the first few hours of the story. Sankei Hall Breeze in Osaka and KT Zepp Yokohama hosted those events.
The Persona 5 series continues to see worldwide success. Atlus recently announced that Persona 5 Strikers has stolen hearts across the globe, selling more than 1.3 million copies. Also, upcoming pop-up stores in Japan will sell framed illustrations from Persona 5 Royal.
Persona 5 the Stage 3 will come to venues in Osaka and Yokohama in December 2021. Persona 5 is available for the PS3 and PS4. Persona 5 Royal is available for the PS4, and Persona 5 Strikers is available for the PS4, Switch, and PC.
