Atlus’ Persona 5 games sold over 9 million copies worldwide, making up over 50% of the Persona series’s sales. These figures include the vanilla game, Royal, Strikers, and Dancing in Starlight. This information appeared in the new press release introducing Persona 5 Tactica. [Thanks, Persona Central!]

Earlier in 2023, Atlus revealed that Persona 5 Royal sold over 3.3 million copies worldwide. This included both digital and physical sales. Before that, a Sega financial report announced that over 7.22 million copies of Persona 5 games had been sold, with the majority of the sales coming from outside of Japan. The number of sales likely increased due to the wider availability of the game, as well as Persona 5 Tactica revitalizing interest in the series.

Persona 5 Tactica will be the new Persona 5 title coming out later in 2023. It will be an SRPG in the style of Fire Emblem and XCOM, and it takes place in the Royal timeline. There will be first-day DLC that will introduce past Personas from the game, such as Orpheus and Izanagi. It will also feature an “anticipated character,” though it’s unclear who it’ll be.

Persona 5 Royal is available on the PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC. Persona 5 Tactica will come out for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Xbox Game Pass, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC via Steam on November 17, 2023.
