Parappa Bakes a Cake in new PlayStation Recipe

parappa the rapper 25th anniversary Cake

In the case of Parappa the Rapper, it turns out that “B-Side” stands for “Baking Side.” The iconic rhythm game dog was the latest subject in PlayStation Japan’s ongoing series of cooking-related Tweets. To commemorate the 25th anniversary of Parappa the Rapper in Japan, PlayStation Japan reproduced a special Seafood Cake from the original game. Parappa originally created the cake with the help of Cheap Cheap the Cooking Chicken.

As a savory dish, the Parappa seafood cake consists of Manila clams, Japanese sea bass (Suzuki), and shrimp. To make the cake, mix flour and butter into a bowl. Then cook the shelled clams, peeled shrimp, and diced fish in a pan with diced olives, onions, bacon, and spinach. Add the mixture to the flour and butter to make the “dough,”, which goes into a mold to set. The cake bakes in an oven at 180 degrees Celsius (about 356 degrees Fahrenheit) for an hour. For game-accurate toppings, the Parappa seafood cake is decorated with freshly cooked shrimp, clams, and shapes cut from kamaboko.

Parappa the Rapper Remastered is immediately available on PS4. For more PlayStation-inspired cooking, check out LeBlanc Curry from Persona 5, Dante from the Devil May Cry series’ favorite pizza, and Sekiro rice balls.
