On September 11, 2020, publisher Forever Entertainment announced that a PS4 version of Panzer Dragoon: Remake would be “coming soon.” According to a tweet posted to the game’s official Twitter account earlier today, “coming soon” means September 28, 2020.
This reveal comes in the wake of yesterday’s launches for both the GOG and Steam versions of the game. Panzer Dragoon: Remake features, among other things, visual updates to an on-rails shooter that released nearly 25 years ago. With the new releases, even more players can experience how the remake manages to “fill in the blank left by younger technology.” The Nintendo Switch version of the game was further improved in a post-release patch that added an option to select an orchestrated version of the original soundtrack. The trailer doesn’t specifically mention whether or not this version of the soundtrack will be part of the PS4 version at launch.
Panzer Dragoon: Remake is already available for the Nintendo Switch and PC via GOG or Steam. There is also a Google Stadia version of the game, and it was at one point given away for free as a Stadia Pro title. The Panzer Dragoon: Remake PS4 release isn’t likely to be the last version of the remake to release, either. A tweet from the publisher indicates that they also anticipate the game’s release on Amazon’s upcoming cloud gaming service, Luna.
